OpenTable names The Brand Guild as US PR AOR


WASHINGTON: Online restaurant reservation service OpenTable has named communications and marketing agency The Brand Guild as its U.S. PR AOR.

As part of the partnership, effective in June, The Brand Guild is leading strategic communications for the company, with a focus on deepening consumer engagement and cultural relevance in a highly competitive landscape, the agency said in a statement. 

In 2024, OpenTable brought on Foxglove Communications as its AOR to help amplify the service’s work supporting restaurants as they address industry challenges such as bots and no-shows, in addition to helping partners maximize revenue through partnerships, product features and interactions. 

Foxglove wrapped its work with OpenTable at the end of May, an agency spokesperson said. 

The Brand Guild is a marketing and communications firm headquartered in Washington, DC. OpenTable joins a roster of new clients added to the agency’s client portfolio this year, including luxury sleep brand Saatva, reusable storage company Stasher Bags and Floura & Co, the fiber company founded by Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams creator Jeni Britton. 

The Brand Guild has served as AOR for Jeni’s since 2022.

OpenTable, part of American travel tech company Booking Holdings, helps a global roster of more than 60,000 restaurants, bars, wineries and other venues fill 1.7 billion seats a year, according to the brand’s website. The company powers reservations, experiences, payments, guest insights and operations. 

Booking Holdings reported $6.8 billion in total revenue in Q2, up 16% from the same period a year prior. Other brands under the travel company include Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda and Kayak.
